Job Description
The Department of Management in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University (Kent campus), seeks qualified applicants for one tenure-track position in the Department of Management with a focus on Human Resource Management/Organizational Behavior (HR/OB). The position is for an Assistant Professor, to begin in August 2025, and is subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will engage in high-quality research, teach HR/OB classes, and engage in service to the institution and their academic field. Research will be publishable in top-tier Management or HR/OB journals. Teaching will occur at the graduate and undergraduate levels and will involve HR/OB classes such as Human Resource Management, Staffing Human Resources, and Human Resource Analytics and ERP Systems. The teaching load is 2/2 for the entire probationary period of a new faculty member.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have earned a doctorate degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, or a closely related field, upon the start date in August 2025. Additional qualifications include:
- evidence (or aptitude) of a strong research record (or agenda) in HR/OB-related areas;
- skilled in teaching various HR/OB courses at the undergraduate level;
- experience teaching graduate classes preferred;

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.Special Instructions Summary:
The Department of Management is composed of 6 tenure-track faculty and 3 full time non-tenure track faculty. Our faculty have diverse research interests and publish in top-tier journals, such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, as well as Journal of International Business Studies and Strategic Management Journal.
