The organization’s core purpose is to help sustain and grow the Catholic Elementary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, through strategic work with the Office of Catholic Education (OCE) and building strategic relationships with schools, individuals, organizations and foundations whose philanthropic interests are aligned with the Foundation for Catholic Education.

Overview:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Foundation for Catholic Education seeks an energetic leader with strong business experience and vision, dedicated to the mission of the Foundation, and an initiative-taking and independent professional to further grow and lead the organization. Responsibilities include the management and development of the existing Foundation staff of seven professionals.


Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Relevant experience within the non-profit and/or business sectors.
  • Demonstrated successful management of an organization including development and execution of strategic objectives.
  • Proven record in effective fundraising and operations.
  • Experience working closely with Board leadership, staff, and external constituents to build strategic relationships and achieve ambitious goals.
  • The extraordinary passion for catholic education.
  • The energy, commitment, and enthusiasm for the leadership required to successfully manage and grow the organization.
  • Demonstrated financial skills required to manage not-for-profit financial matters including State requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Opportunity to play a leadership role in taking The Foundation to the next level of impact.
  • Serve as the face of the organization externally, increasing awareness of the good work, brand, and impact of the Foundation.
  • Act as a highly effective driver of the expansion and enhancement of the Foundation’s work.
  • Build increased and highly engaged support and resources for the organization’s work.
  • Serve as a highly effective spokesperson externally and represent the Foundation and its mission as their primary spokesperson.
  • Build the Foundation organization to achieve the Board’s Mission for strengthening and sustaining the catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
  • Administer the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program on behalf of the Foundation.
