The USC Keck School of Medicine - Alzheimer Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI), located in San Diego, California is an academic institute comprised of an expert panel of scientific collaborators committed to advancing the development of new treatments for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) through innovative clinical trials.
Throughout our Institute the study teams are highly collaborative and are comprised of the lead scientist, ATRI faculty, biostatisticians, data managers, project managers, regulatory, system developers, and industry partners.
The Analytics Developer is a data-driven position.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in clinical trials at a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic clinical research institute: as well as a good understanding of databases and report development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with database programmers and developers on the scripting, design, testing, and implementation of study databases based on data management and protocol needs.
- Creates new programs, troubleshoots, and updates programs as needed to support the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for analyzing and reporting clinical data.
- Develops progress and custom reports to help the study team ensure timelines and quality expectations are met.
- Designs and creates dashboards and analytics content to support clinical trial monitoring activities.
- Performs quality control for programs and other study documents, for example, reporting and specifications.
- Maintains complete and auditable documentation of all programming activities.
- Participates in User Acceptance Testing and Validation activities.
- Reviews eCRFs, edit check specifications, Advance Quality Checks, Post Entry Checks, and Post Save Functions.
- Defines and understands the data review requirements and processes to ensure delivery of the highest quality of data and the analyses based on this data
- Reviews output across R programs to ensure consistency.
- Develops report specifications and scripts, testing and documenting R global utility programs and tools following standards and validation procedures.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of departmental procedures and standards.
- Works effectively with cross-functional groups, study teams, and vendors to develop reports and improve clinical trial monitoring.
- Performs other duties as directed by department leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative or natural sciences field with training in R or other statistical language suites
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience with hands-on data management, statistical analysis, or statistical software suites such as SAS or R. Past work experience in a related regulated industry and academia is a plus.
- Knowledge of visualization tools such as RStudio, R Shiny, Tableau, and Spotfire
- Tools: GitHub, Relational databases, R and R Studio, Python, Pandas, Jira, Confluence, APIs (Preferred)
