A total of one (1) 1.0 FTE Advanced Practice Professional (either NP or PA) will be hired to fill this job opening.

Job Summary

This position is for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for the Adult Sleep Disorders Clinics at Michigan Medicine. This clinician may initially obtain mentored experience in Sleep Medicine at the Sleep Clinic, and then work in collaboration with physicians in the Sleep Clinic.

Salary range: $125,605 - $193,013

Responsibilities*

Expectations for this position would include providing direct care to patients in the Sleep Disorders Clinic, provide support to the physicians in clinic, handle higher level medical issues, and contribute to the overall continuity of patients' care.  This clinician would provide clinical leadership in practice, staff development and research. Participate in student, physician, and staff education and participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.  Candidate would be expected to work with clinical staff for scheduling and triage issues as well as supporting clinic nurse in the provision of patient care as needed with the service.

Hours/Week: 40

Shift/Hours/Days: Monday through Friday, specific shifts/ hours to be determined upon hire

Location: Sleep Clinic, Brighton Center for Special Care (BCSC), possibly with some time at other sites such as Med Inn

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
