This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm. The occasional Saturday shift (about once per quarter) from 8am-2pm is required. Located at Scripps Coastal Medical Center in Hillcrest.

What you'll do:
- Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
- Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
- Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
- Detail oriented
- Experience administering vaccines
Required Certification/Registration:
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- MA in an outpatient setting, preferably Internal Medicine

Minimum Rate (USD): 23.92 - Maximum Rate (USD): 30.83
