Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the general maintenance and troubleshooting of various building systems. As a generalist, you should have experience and knowledge in a range of utility systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections and perform general maintenance tasks on building systems to ensure their efficient and safe operation.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in utility systems, identifying root causes and implementing necessary repairs or replacements.
Coordinate maintenance and repair tasks with external vendors and contractors when needed.
Monitor inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for system maintenance and repairs.
Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures, and resolve these issues in a timely manner.
Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including filter changes, lubrication, and system calibrations.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory management.
Stay updated with the latest building codes and regulations related to utility systems maintenance.
Actively participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certification preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in general building systems maintenance.
Broad knowledge and experience in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in various utility systems.
Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Certification in specific building systems or trades is a plus.
