Academic HR Analyst advises the Department Chair, Division Chiefs, Chief Administrative Officer and Operations Supervisor, on academic personnel timelines and processes, trends, and problem/conflict resolutions. The position works with the Dean's office to monitor the department's state-funded FTE positions and implementation of academic processes. The Department consists of 50 faculty/physicians. The incumbent will be responsible for managing, planning, and administering academic personnel (including faculty and non-faculty appointments), Staff (MSP) Physician coordination, administrator for observers and volunteer clinical faculty (VCF), and payroll. The incumbent in this position performs complex administrative analyses in all functions of academic personnel administration. Manages all academic advancement actions including recruitment, appointment, advancement, management of leaves of absence, problem and conflict resolution, and separation. Responsible for analyzing existing and proposed administrative policies and procedures.
Provides expertise with complex transactions for academic appointments that require an understanding of the School of Medicine, UC Davis Policies and Procedures, and Academic Personnel Manual Policies and Procedures. Provides expertise in compensation plan and salary structure for academic employees. Independently composes/drafts correspondence required for faculty recruitment, hiring and directives. Needs to understand, interpret and apply campus and system wide policies and procedures related to recruitment of faculty personnel. Provides expertise and consulting support to the Department Chair regarding all recruitment and search processes, as well as merit and promotion actions. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree and/or relevant HR experience.
- At least two years of relevant HR experience.
- Experience working with faculty on various personnel related actions.
- Experience analyzing academic personnel policies and processes to advise others and participate in assessing business processes.
- Experience using analytical skills to research and interpret data and policy, contribute to solutions, forecast the impact of potential actions, develop logical conclusions and/or recommend solutions.
- Experience and/or skills to use but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, internet, email, databases, accounting, payroll and human resources systems; design custom databases, produce reports and queries using various programs.
- Experience writing summaries, proposals, correspondence, and other communications with skills to edit copy for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience or skills to learn Academic and Staff Personnel Administration and Volunteer Clinical Faculty.
- Knowledge and experience with but not limited to: UCPATH, Cognos, MyInfo Vault, AP Recruit, KFS, and FIS.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SISS policies and procedures and good working knowledge of various visa levels and processes. Experience using iGlobal and OATS.
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with medical staff credentialing/privileging process.

Department Overview
The Department of Radiology is a large academic and clinical department within the School of Medicine which is responsible for teaching and training of residents, medical students, and clinical fellows, as well as both basic and creative clinical scholarly investigations. Radiology maintains a substantial amount of research, both basic and clinical trials, and provides services for interdepartmental research studies.
