Our team within the Location Technologies group of Apple's Sensing & Connectivity org desires a motivated and passionate senior engineer to help create new proximity capabilities. Expanding AirTag and Find My network item capabilities through unwanted tracking, notify when left behind, play sound and precision finding have been a few of the top recent initiatives for the team. We are seeking software engineers with interest in location technologies and experience in system design and wireless applications as ideal candidates. Description
Our team within the positioning technologies org at Apple is seeking a highly motivated senior engineer with excellent software development, quantitative reasoning, and communication skills. The candidate should have a good foundation in modern C++ and/or Objective-C. This includes having an understanding of common design patterns, debugging techniques, and memory management fundamentals. Additionally, experience with embedded databases, networking, concurrency patterns, sensor interfaces and iOS system interactions and optimizations are beneficial backgrounds. Knowledgable in software development best practices and comfortable communicating and promoting these ideas to others is also a desirable trait of candidates. To ensure product quality, engineers here also regularly focus on the development and improvement of offline tooling (including internal iOS applications), continuous integration, and data analysis and visualization. Therefore, engineers should be excited about not only building critical pieces of software but also the infrastructure around it. We make a serious commitment to software quality, engineering productivity, and automation and we desire an engineer that shares those values. We are a team motivated by shipping software and getting technology in to the hands of our users; therefore, the engineers which design features and algorithms are expected to implement and deliver to production. Ideal candidates will be familiar with the software development lifecycle, taking an idea from concept, to prototype, to production, as well as communicating the status and progress of that work. - Demonstrates ability to write and debug software in modern C++ and/or Objective-C
- Comfortable scripting and developing in Unix-like systems.
- Ability to reason about problems using basic statistics principles

Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
