Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator II will perform various professional and administrative duties related to the general functions of Human Resources, including but not limited to coordination of recruitment and onboarding new employees, benefits administration, preparing various monthly and quarterly reports.
Essential Job Duties:
· This position is the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department and is responsible for greeting employees and visitors in the office, answering internal and external phone calls and responding to questions and providing responses both verbally and in writing.
· Participate in new employee orientation and benefits overview with all newly hired employees.
· Process all new employees and changes to employment or benefits status.
· Post open positions to CBU website and external sources
· Coordinate the annual open enrollment communications and benefit enrollment process.
· Set up and maintain personnel records; audit and process personnel action forms to ensure accuracy.
· Participate in the coordination of the performance appraisal process, including tracking completion of reviews/forms, performance counseling to employees and managers and assisting in the development of employee improvement plans.
· Responsible for performing a wide variety of general office activities which provide support to the human resource function.
· Reconcile invoices and prepare check requests as required.
· Maintain up-to-date office files and records including office supplies.
· Other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 1-3 years of employee relations, benefits administration and/or human resources experience.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Tennessee and federal Human Resource laws such as EEOC guidelines, E-Verify, FLSA, and ADA are required.
· Must have excellent leadership, project management, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
· Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)
· Banner system, Employee Navigator, E-Verify and TimeClock Plus experience preferred.
· Experience in Higher Education setting preferred.
Education:
· BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations or related field (preferred)
· PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
