Job Description
The Department of Business at Concord University invites applications for a tenure-track position in finance at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, effective January 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
Faculty members assume an active and collegial role in the planning and governance of the Department’s activities and expectations.
- Primary responsibilities will include teaching a variety of undergraduate finance and quantitative courses with a 4/4 teaching load.
- Faculty are responsible for advising, participation in curriculum review and development, and assessment of student learning.
- A portion of service activities will include serving on University and Departmental committees.
- The candidate will be expected to conduct scholarly research and be involved in service to the regional business community.
- Teaching some classes at the University’s off-campus site in Beckley, WV is required.
- There is also an expectation of service activity, which includes serving on University and departmental committees.

Required Licenses/Certification
- The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in finance or related area or a DBA with a finance emphasis from a regionally accredited intuition. Individuals with a solid research background who are ABD at the final stage of completion of the dissertation may be considered.
- Candidates with business experience, quantitative skills, and/or ability to teach in the Information Systems area will be given due consideration. Further, individuals holding the MBA or other related master’s degree, may be considered for a Visiting Professorship.
Required Skills
- Programmatic research and/or a prior record of publishing is essential as we require and support faculty research productivity.
- The ability to develop new course offerings in Finance and management discipline is important.
- The successful candidate must possess demonstrated teaching competency and also must have a strong commitment to, and understanding of, the role of undergraduate and graduate business education.
