Adjunct Faculty, Sociology
Job Description
Salem State University is seeking part-time adjunct faculty with interest and experience teaching undergraduate sociology classes. Teaching assignments will likely include introduction to sociology, but other subject areas will depend upon the expertise of the candidate and the needs of the program. Classes may be in-person, fully online, or hybrid, depending on the department's needs. Priority will be given to candidates who can teach in a variety of modalities, including in-person and fully online.
Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed in order to generate an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors. Appointments may begin in Fall 2024 or in subsequent semesters.
Teaching in person, fully online, and/or hybrid classes.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in sociology.
- Experience teaching sociology courses at the college level.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and collegiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Experience teaching in a variety of modalities, including in-person, fully online, and hybrid.
