About Us:
Mennonite Housing is for people who cannot afford home repair, decent housing, or home ownership in any other way.
Job purpose
Provide leadership, vision and management of the organization according to the goals and strategic direction established by the Board of Directors.
Duties and responsibilities
· Participate with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization
· In addition to the Board Chairperson, act as a spokesperson for the organization
· Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of Mennonite Housing including but not limited to the following:
· Identify and obtain funding for new development projects
· Submit to Board an annual budget and manage that budget as amended from time-t0-time based on quarterly financial reports
· Responsible for fund raising for program and operational funding
· Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization with authority delegated annually by the Board of Directors
· Responsible for procurement standards that ensure fairness, competence, and active efforts to meet Section 3 (HUD) requirements and utilize woman and minority owned businesses
· Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the organization’s community profile
· This includes responsibility for maintaining a positive image of the organization with local banking, business, construction, government, grantees and nonprofit sectors of the south central Kansas region
· Ensure the operation of the organization meets the established cash flow and net income goals
· Ensure asset management goals are established for the properties and monitor performance
· Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization
· Determine staffing requirements necessary for the efficient operation of the organization
· Provide the Board of Directors with comprehensive, monthly reports regarding the activities and programs of the organization, financial condition, and key issues affecting the organization
· Responsible for all Human Resources activities directly or indirectly including but not limited to the following:
· Ensure all employees are given an annual review by their supervisor that includes professional and personal development goals and purposeful feedback
· Oversee retention of competent, qualified staff and manage staff transitions from employment by Mennonite Housing staff in accordance with Personnel Policies and Procedures
· Maintain positive relationship with NeighborWorks America
· Maintain exemplary status
· Ensure completion of onsite review process every three years
· Ensure reporting requirements are met
· Other duties and responsibilities as identified by the Board of Directors
Qualifications
● 10+ years of combined experience in asset/property management, construction or other equivalent experience, including supervision of personnel
● Experience working with local organizations and government to leverage all resources in the community
● Familiar with all types of multi-family housing financing including tax credits, conventional, and bond financing
● Familiar with HOME, CDBG and other types of HUD resources available for the development of affordable housing
● Degree in Finance, Real Estate or Construction, Community Development, Nonprofit Management or equivalent experience
● Good communicator with proven written and presentation skills
● Understanding of mission-based organizations
Physical Activities and Requirements
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
● Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
● Must be able to travel among properties and for other business purposes
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
