William Paterson University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 10-month faculty position for the 2024-2025 academic year at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Cotsakos College of Business, Department of Accounting and Law to teach accounting courses beginning fall 2024 which starts on August 27, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities - Teaching, Service and Scholarship
Teaching:
Teach 12- credits of undergraduate and/or graduate courses, online, hybrid and/or in person, per semester, including but not limited to, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics for Accountants, Intermediate Accounting, and Advanced Accounting.
Provide students with consistent and effective advisement, support, and guidance in their academic and co-curricular endeavors.
Other teaching duties as assigned, depending on departmental needs.
Service:
Attend department and college meetings and participate in activities and events of the department, college, and university designed for student recruitment, retention, and graduation.
Participate in and contribute to assurance of learning, curriculum, and program development.
Serve on department, college, and university committees as needed.
Engage with the professional accounting community and participate in professional development activities.
Other service duties as assigned, depending on departmental needs.
Scholarship:
Pursue scholarly activities to maintain scholarly academic qualification status for AACSB accreditation.
Required qualifications:
An earned doctorate in Accounting from an accredited institution, ABD’s may be considered.
Experience in teaching.
An established record of scholarship to meet the college’s criteria for scholarly academic faculty.
Ability to teach accounting courses at graduate and undergraduate levels in multiple modalities.
Preferred qualifications:
An active professional accounting certification / license.
Experience teaching university-level accounting courses.
Evidence of teaching excellence such as peer and student evaluations for university-level courses.
Personal attributes and traits:
Demonstrated ability to succeed in a collaborative environment by freely offering expertise and being open to meaningful feedback.
Commitment to supporting student success.
Capable of engaging and contributing in order to make a positive impact to the strategic goals and mission of the college.
Ability to navigate the complexities of a multi-faceted organization with competing wants and needs.
Capable of identifying key components of a problem, possible solutions, and the action to obtain the desired result.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence both in practice and in the assessment of self and others.
