Job Description:
The HR Business Consultant (HRBC) uses independent judgment to apply extensive knowledge of human resources performance practices, policies, procedures, and services to support Detroit Medical Center (DMC) objectives within Graduate Medical Education and DMC Market departments. Ensures that the human resources need of internal and external customers are met. Enables internal customers to effectively connect people and business strategies. Models’ customer service and continuous learning to management team. Anticipates opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of HR services delivery. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (or related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and experience as a HR Generalist or experiences in multiple disciplines of HR. Active certification as PHR, SPHR or GPHR preferred. Master's preferred in Human Resources or related field.
- Five to seven years of progressively more responsible work experience in Human Resources and demonstrated knowledge in all areas of Human Resources. Previous experience in Labor Relations is preferred.
- Prior HR experience in healthcare or hospital setting strongly preferred.
