LCS Class Lead

Position Summary:

LCE is looking for a qualified LCS Class Lead in support of San Diego based Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Preventive Maintenance Availability (PMAV) Program. As a Class Lead, you will work closely with the Execution Manager and Program Manager as well as the LCS Hull Leads in the coordination and execution of maintenance requirements and completion of work packages assigned.

Clearance Required:
  • Must have an Active Secret Security clearance and be capable of obtaining a Common Access Card
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the advance planning process coupled with experience to develop accurate, integrated preventive maintenance plans and schedules for the maintenance of LCS Navy vessels in accordance with NAVSEA specifications
  • Works closely with government and ship force to ensure proper implementation of schedules
  • Conducts Preventive Maintenance on Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and combat systems machinery and equipment
  • Coordinates the issuance of Work Authorization Forms (WAF)s and tag-outs and assists with the sequential restoration of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) and combat systems equipment alongside the WAF/Tag out Coordinator
  • Plans and coordinates tasks for LCE employees and subcontractors in performance of preventive maintenance
  • Responsible for maintenance related administrative functions, meeting deadlines, and reviewing and submitting all Condition Found Reports (CFR)s for accuracy and content
  • Responsible for assigning contract items including scheduling, operations budget, material tracking, enforcement of OSHA, Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies and coordination of production work force
  • Generate, submit, and distribute required reports and briefs to designated personnel

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Experience with LCS HM&E and/or Combat Systems (LCS experience can be from time as LCS crew member or Regional Maintenance Center performing maintenance on LCS platforms)
  • At least 10 years' experience with maintenance availabilities, Work Authorization Forms and Tag Outs
  • 10 years navy experience, coupled as a 3m coordinator, department manager, and/or mix of navy background with experience managing us navy ship availabilities especially with LCS ship
  • Experience with Tag Out User's Manual
  • Experience with the Navy's Planned Maintenance System
  • Knowledgeable with FY23 Navy Standard Items
  • Knowledge of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • U.S. Navy technician skills and training
  • U.S. Navy LCS Class mechanical/electrical/electronic shipboard experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and teamwork orientated

Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, climbing scaffolding and standing; frequent periods of prolonged standing may be required.
  • Maneuvering around tight spaces in a shipboard environment Ability to travel 10% of the time.
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
